Types Of Exercise
Aerobic (cardio-respiratory and cardiovascular). Any non-stop, sustained activity using large muscle groups (especially legs) is considered aerobic exercise.
Resistance (weight/strength training). Using muscle to exert force against resistance will increase muscle size, endurance and the body's energy (calorie) expenditure.
Flexibility (stretching/myofascial release). Stretching and releasing tight muscles can help prevent injuries and assist in achieving proper muscle activation.
Core Control (torso strength). Core strength is essential to maintain postural alignment, proper muscle activation and to optimize the benefits and safety of any exercise.
Balance. Muscular balance and core control are necessary to train the body to right itself when the body's center of gravity is challenged.
“Lack of activity destroys the good condition of every human being, while movement and methodical physical exercise save it and preserve it. ” ~ Plato
“The greatest wealth is health.” ~ Virgil
